Christmas times a coming!

Well Saturday morning we woke up and it was snowing! ok, so it was more like teeny tiny flurries and it only lasted a few hours and didn't stick to the ground, but it was still snow! I made Clayton help me bring the tree upstairs so that Carter and I could decorate it. We made apple cider and had a good time. Carter was a very good helper. Now if I could just get him to stop taking things off of the tree :)

Yesterday Carter and I drove to St Louis to go to his friend Jackson's 1st birthday party. We had a great time. It was nice seeing Aunt Shelly and her family. I hope that we get to see them again soon.
The bun in the oven is doing well. Almost 14 weeks along, and it's a giant, I'm sure of it. I feel huge. My next doctor's appointment is in Dec, and it is not an ultrasound, so I don't think we will find out the sex until after Christmas. I was hoping to know before, but it really doesn't matter too much. My doctor kinda acted like she might let me come in early for the ultrasound, so we'll see, maybe :)

What to blog about?

I have been so bad about not blogging lately. I would say we just don't do much. but that probably isn't true. Clayton bought a backhoe a few weeks ago, and Carter loves it. He sits on the dash board thing and rides everywhere daddy goes. They dug up some cider trees to replant in the front yard. Carter just rides, watches, and loves every minute of it. Clayton brought up a toy backhoe that was in the basement before dinner the other night...Carter would not even come in the kitchen to eat dinner he was having so much fun with that silly backhoe. We thought we were going to have to send him to bed with it. For the next 2 or 3 days that was all he would play with. He is so into anything that he can do with dad.
Carter's just starting getting a new fascination with TV. He's been watching Thomas the train movies, and Bob the Builder. He of course loves trains and backhoes, so he will watch a whole video! That's amazing, we've never been able to get him to sit still.
I took down the halloween decorations on November 2nd, and put up some of the christmas decorations. I didn't put up the tree or the lights outside but I did hang the stockings and decorate inside the house. I told Clayton I feel like a closet christmas decorator. I love them so much but I know its too early so I hide all the stuff so people can't see it from outside ;) I can't wait to get the lights on the house and the tree up! I'm excited for it to snow to, although it doesn't seem to be in the forecast any time soon...just COLD rain.
Well I guess that's it for now :)

Who's a big boy?

So we tried like 3 weeks ago to switch to a big boy bed, because we wanted to see if we could get him a toddler bed and use the crib for the baby. well we tried it at nap time, and before nap time was over, his bed was a crib again. This time we decided we had to convert because he kept crawling out of his pack n play in KC. We didn't want him to start crawling out of his crib and get hurt. We did it the first night we were home from KC and I think he was so exhausted he just gave in. He didn't get out or anything. About 10:30 clayton said he heard a thump...i didn't hear it so I didn't go check on him. the next morning he was asleep on the floor next to the heat register with his blanket and pillow.lol. During nap time he did get out and bang on the door for a minute, but he went right back to bed and took his nap. Ever since then he does pretty good, sometimes he gets out and beats on the door, but never longer then what he would have fussed for in his crib. Most of the time he just talks himself to sleep without getting out. We did take everything out of his room that he could play with like toys and stuff, and tied his draws shut so he couldn't tear the stuff out at first. But now the drawers aren't tied shut and we put some of his toys back.

KC trip

Clayton was on vacation this week so we took a short trip to Kansas City. We stayed at a Sheraton hotel that has an indoor waterpark. It was a big hit with the little one. He loved every minute of playing in the water. The water was really warm. But the weather in KC had just gotten chilly for the first time all year, and we don't think they had their heat system figured out for the air temperature, because even the life guards were freezing. Anyways, there was a little slide in the kiddie pool and carter loved it. the first night we were there, we were the only three in the whole park! I was a little worried that they wouldn't stay in business too long with such crappy attendence, but it picked up the next day and was pretty busy.
While in KC we went to a resturant in a mall that brought your food by way of train. That's right, the whole restuarant was lined with railroad tracks above your head. When your food was ready, the train brought it out and dropped it off at your table. Carter loved it. He liked it soo much, he spent the whole time watching the train instead of eating...so he ate his lunch back at the hotel where there were fewer distractions. We also went to Union Station. That building was beautiful. It hasn't been turned into a big shopping mall like the one in St louis. It still has the Grand Hall, and all the orginal chandlers and ceiling details. They have a train museum there too. So of course we had to go through it. They had a dinner car and engine that Clayton actually has operated before. I guess it was in St louis a few years ago and he engineered it for a dinner trip.
I'll add some pictures from our trip soon, check back later!

Big News! And the Cutest Kid in the World!

So if you haven't heard by now......we are going to have another baby! We had our first ultrasound today. It measured 8 weeks, and had a good strong heartbeat...lol I can't remember what it was though. When I was pregnant with carter I could remember everytime they told me a heart rate, and remembered it until the next time when they told me the new one. This time around I didn't even make it out the door before I forgot! My due date is May 21st. We are very excited, but I CANNOT wait to be through this first phase. Tired and sick is not how I like to spend my time. I hate it. But I know it is all worth it in the end. I think clayton and I are both hoping for another boy. We think him and carter will get along way better if they are both boys. But of course, I would love a girl just the same. Either way, I will be happy witha healthy baby.

In other news, I have the absolute, most cutest, most adorable kid in the world. If you need proof, just look at the pictures below! He wasn't crazy about having his pictures taken this time, but he's so stinkin' cute you can't tell he wasn't diggin it. (someone told me today I'd better have a girl this time, cause there is no way I could have another boy as cute, or cuter then him...hehe)

dr today

hey everyone!
Carter went to his 18 month check up today. He cried the whole time. As soon as we walked through the door to the back where the exam rooms are he stopped dead in his tracks and turned around and ran from me. Once we got him in the room he started crying. He cried while he was being weighed, and measured. He cried when she checked his pulse, cried when she took his temp, and it was under his armpit. He cried when she left because she didn't let him out the door. He cried as soon as the doctor came in the room, cried the whole time he was looking in his ears, nose and throat. He cried while he listen to his lungs. He cried when he left too because he didn't let him out the door. The nurse came back in to give him his shot, and he was crying so much he didn't even notice he got a shot. When it was finally time to go, he RAN out of the door and straight to the front of the office, he remembered exactly what hallway to turn down to get out of there, it was so cute. The good news is he is done with shots until he is five. I don't think that will matter to him though. I think next time we go back he will remember he doesn't like that place and will cry again.

Long time, no blog

Sorry bout not blogging. I just really don't have too much going on right now. Carter and I have just been hanging out at home most of the time. My friend Angie was home from Nebraska last week, so we did go down to the lake to see them, and then they came over for a bit before they headed home. That's been the excitement for the past few weeks around here.
here's some pics from the lake and the boys playing here at the house:
